SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE April 1987 In general, Unit 2 operated at 100% power throughout the month of April.

Load was reduced to 830 MWe for two hours on April 3 to repair a leak on 26C feedwater heater drain line.

In addition, #22 Heater Drain Tank Pump was returned to service after completion of repairs to correct excess pump vibration.

At approximately 2030 hours0.0235 days <br />0.564 hours <br />0.00336 weeks <br />7.72415e-4 months <br /> on April 3, a power reduction to 47% reactor power was commenced due to a broken instrument air line to the Heater Drain Tank.

After completion of repairs, power was returned to 100% by 1900 hours0.022 days <br />0.528 hours <br />0.00314 weeks <br />7.2295e-4 months <br /> on April 4.

On April 27, #23 Control Rod Drive Fan motor became inoperable.

Initial investigation showed motor winding had failed.

Exact cause of failure under investigation.

After completion of repairs, motor was returned to service on April 30.
