SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE
't MARCH 1987 t
c Indian Point' Unit'#3 was synchronized to the bus for a total of.642.80 hours9.259259e-4 days <br />0.0222 hours <br />1.322751e-4 weeks <br />3.044e-5 months <br />,
? producing a; gross generation of 615,210 MWe for this reporting period.
Early.in March small temporary flow transients were observed on No. 33 Reactor:
Coolant Pump (RCP).No. 33. On March 16th, the seal return flow on RCP No. 33 started to increase. RCP seal return flows were trended and thermal barrier delta,P and seal outlet temperatures were closely monitored. Based on RCP No.
33 seal return flow trends, a decision was made to conduct an RCP seal' maintenance outage.
On March 27th at 1848 hours0.0214 days <br />0.513 hours <br />0.00306 weeks <br />7.03164e-4 months <br />'the Unit was taken off line in a controlled shutdown.
.in order to repair No. 33 Reactor Coolant Pump Seal _ Package.- The' Unit proceeded.
to a cold shutdown condition in order for Maintenance crews to disassemble the-pump and replace the pump seal package. A decision was made to also replace No.
32 RCP Seal Package during this maintenance outage as a preventive maintenance
