SUMMARY
.OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE SEPTEMBER 1987 Indian Point Unit No. 3 returned to service on September 5,1987 at 1125 hours0.013 days <br />0.313 hours <br />0.00186 weeks <br />4.280625e-4 months <br /> fol. lowing a 126 day refueling. outage. On September 13, 1987 at'approximately 1330 hours0.0154 days <br />0.369 hours <br />0.0022 weeks <br />5.06065e-4 months <br /> during a condensate polisher vessel rinsing, a feedwater pressure
. transient occurred which caused automatic control systems to react and ultimately. result in a high discharge pressure trip of No. 31 Main Boiler Feed Pump.
In response to the tripping of No. 31 Main Boiler Feed Pump, unit' load was reduced from approximately 1000 MWe to approximately 420 MWe. On September 14, 1987 at approximately 1800 hours0.0208 days <br />0.5 hours <br />0.00298 weeks <br />6.849e-4 months <br /> unit load was increased and held at approximately 600 MWe until No. 31 Main Boiler Feed Pump could be returned to unrestricted service.
On September 16th at approximately 2200 hours0.0255 days <br />0.611 hours <br />0.00364 weeks <br />8.371e-4 months <br /> a load escalation-commenced. During this load escalation a Moisture Separator Reheater drain line concern. limited power output to 900 Mwe until. repairs could be performed.
Indian Point Unit No. 3 maintained load at approximately 900 MWE for the remainder of the reporting period producing a gross generation of 469,120 MWe while being synchronized to the bus for 612.42 hours4.861111e-4 days <br />0.0117 hours <br />6.944444e-5 weeks <br />1.5981e-5 months <br />.
