Description:
Turbine Sump 011 Separator Outfall No: 800218 Wastes (00G)
Parameter: Oil and Grease - Freon Parameter No: 00556 1.
Date of Incident:
7/20/82 2.
Identification of specific effluent limitation or monitoring requirement affected: 011 and grease are limited to 20 mg/l daily maximum concentration.

Description of Incident:
A routine oil and grease sample collected on 7/20/82 indicated 23.5 mg/1.
Samples collected 7/19/82 and 7/21/82 measured 11.6 mg/l and 13.2 mg/1, respectively. The oil appeared to be turbine lube oil.

Apparent Cause:
No particular event could be identified as the cause.

If not immediately corrected, the anticipated time the condition is expected to continue:

Corrective Action - The following corrective action was taken or will be taken to reduce, eliminate and prevent recurrence:
The oil absorbent pillows present in Tank 7-41 and the turbine sump were changed to better absorb any oil present in those tanks.

Additional Comments:
Daily observation of the discharge showed no visible oil on the lake surface.
The oil treatment facility filters were changed on 7/16/82. The normal expected" life of the filters is greater than four days.
