Turbine Sump Oil Outfall Code No: 800218 Separator (001/00F)
Parameter: Oil and Grease Parameter Code No: 00556 1.
Date of Incident: May 19, 1986 (1000 Hours) 2.
Identification of specific effluent limitation or monitoring requirement affected:
Exceeded daily maximum limit 20 mg/L oil and grease 3.
Description of Incident:
A sample of the turbine sump oil separator tank (T-41) on 5/19/86 (1000 hours0.0116 days <br />0.278 hours <br />0.00165 weeks <br />3.805e-4 months <br />) was reported on 5/22/86 to be 33.0 mg/L.

Apparent Cause:
Oil / water separator apparently did not adequately remove influent oil to the system.

If not immediately corrected, the anticipated time the condition is expected to continue:

Corrective Action - The following corrective action was taken or will be taken to reduce, eliminate and prevent recurrence:
The oil / water separator M-18 was cleaned by A&B Industrial Co. on 5/24/86.
Accumulated oil and grease were removed from the separator components to improve its efficiency.

Additional Comments:
A visual check of the mixing basin discharge showed no visible oil in the discharge or lake.
