O NPDES NOTIFICATION Apparent Difference From Daily Average / Maximum Limitation February 13, 1981 Plant: Palisades Permit No: MI-0001457 Outfall

Description:

Neutralizer Tank Waste Outfall No: 800213 (Outfall 00F)

Paramater: Suspended Solids Parameter No: 00530

1. Date of Incident: January 1981.

2. Identification of specific effluent limitation or monitoring requirement affected: Total suspended solids daily average limitation of 30 mg/1.

3. Description of Incident: The following results for total suspended solids.were obtained during January 1981:

4. Apparent Cause: The two relatively high values at the beginning of the mcinth appeared to be representative of an isolated occurrence, the cause of whit h was not apparent.

5. If not immediat ely corrected, the anticipated time the condition is expect ed to continue: FA.

6. Corrective Act:.on - The following corrective action was taken or will be taken to reduce, elictinate and prevent recurrence:

a. The trend of values improvad (decreased) throughout the month,

b. Continued 5.crutiny of the neutralizer tanks operating conditions should

( aid in ant:.cipating any future difficulties with total suspended solic'.s i levels.
