1998 Occupational Radiation Exposure The attached table summarizes personnel radiation exposure by job function, work group, and employer for the year 1998. The methodology and format used to prepare the table meets the reporting requirements of Section 6.6.1 of the Palisades Plant Technical Specifications.

Occupational exposures, derived from Electronic Dosimeter (ED) data, are adjusted by a factor that corrects the ED data to the dose for each individual as measured by thermoluminescent dosimeter, the legal record dose. This correction factor is applied to each job function, work group, and employer category on the attached table.

The Special Maintenance activities conducted for the year 1998 included the following:

  • Safety Related Piping Reverification Project hanger modifications in the 602' pipeway
  • Whip restraint repairs in the EastEngineering Safeguards room
  • Test fit and install the South Tilt Pit drain filter
  • Security upgrade modifications
  • L-1 Polar Crane modifications
  • Modification of the P-50A oil lift system
  • High pressure air system modifications
  • Small bore piping walkdown and support modifications
  • Containment coatings emergent inspection and repair
  • Demolition of the Volume Reduction System components
  • Modification of CV-3070 and CV-3071 and associated piping
  • Safety Related Piping Reverification Project hanger modifications in the Clean Water Receiving Tank pump room and the 607' Component Cooling Water room 1
