Turbine Sump Oil Outfall Code No: 800218 Separator (001/00F)

Parameter: Oil and Grease Parameter Code No: 00556

1. Date of Incident: March 31, 1986 9
2. Identification of specific effluent limitation or monitoring requirement affected:

Exceeded monthly average limit 15 mg/L oil / grease

3. Description of Incident:

The monthly average oil and grease concentration measured 53.4 mg/l The monthly average oil and grease limit was exceeded because of high oil and grease readings during the first part of the month.

4. Apparent Cause:

As explained in the Company's previous NPDES notification report of March 11, 1986, the turbine sump pit filled with oil from a leaking seal on the No. 4 turbine bearing oil lift pump.

5. If not immediately corrected, the anticipated time the condition is expected to continue:

6. Corrective Action - The following corrective action was taken or will be taken to reduce, eliminate and prevent recurrence:

As explained in the Company's previous NPDES notification report of March 11, 1986, the leak on the bearing oil lift pump was secured. The turbine sump was pumped to an oil hold tank.

7. Additional Comments:

Daily samples of T-41 were taken until the effluent quality returned to within limits.
