Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 Enclosed *are sixty-three copies of Amendment No. 20 to the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 ano 3 Operating License Applications. This amenament contains responses to NUREG-0694, TMI-Related Requirements for New Operating Licenses.

SCE's letters of August 16, 1979 and December 19, 1979 transmitted reports which discussed the status of the San Onofre Units 2 and 3 evaluation program relative to the TMI incident. Subsequently the NRC issued NUREG-0694, TMI Related Requirements for New Operating Licenses. The enclosed FSAR amendment constitutes a separate FSAR volume which directly addresses the NRC TMI requirements discussed in NUREG-0694. The appropriate FSAR sections will be revised by approximately October, 1980 to reflect the information contained in the enclosed amendment.

Direct distribution of Amendment 20 to the FSAR will be made in accordance with the service list provided by SCE's letter of October 29, 1979 to the Commission. An affidavit attestina to the fact that distribution has been completed will be provided within ten days of amendment docketing.
