Docket No. 50-206 Environmental Qualification of Electrical Equipment San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 As part of providing the staff with the qualification documentation for TMI equipment, we have provided you with the schedule for the availability of qualification documents for specific equipment. Our last letter on this matter was December 15, 1982. In that letter we indicated that documentation for the resistance temperature detectors and limit switches would be available by January 15, 1983, the containment water level monitors would be available January 28, 1983, the containment hydrogen monitors would be available February 4, 1983 and the valve indicators would be available July 29, 1983.
This letter is to inform you that the qualification documentation for the above identified equipment will be available prior to return to operation of Unit 1 from the current outage. The reason for this change in schedule is due to the numerous delays being encountered. The delays have been due to necessary retests, preparation of test reports, review and comment period, resolution of comments, etc., occurring beyond scheduled dates. It is our intention to have the qualification documentation available in the files prior to startup.
In the event that having this documentation available prior to startup is not possible, we will inform you of the details causing the delay.
