Docket No. 50-206 Deferral of License Amendment Application San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 By letter dated July 2, 1980, the Division of Licensing requested that we submit a license amendment application to incorporate applicable technical specifications related to implementation of the TMI-2 Lessons Learned Category "A" items. Guidance was provided in the form of model tech nical specifications. Our letter dated September 12, 1980, stated that the required license amendment application could be submitted by January 16, 1981.
As you are aware, San Onofre Unit 1^is in an extended outage to repair the steam generators. This will allow additional time for existing Category "A" items to be upgraded. In the interest of complying with your letter of July 2, 1980, but also in the interest of developing up-to-date Technical Specifications, the license amendment application related to TMI-2 Category "A" items will be further delayed and will be submitted prior to April 1, 1981.
