Staff Acceptance of Vogtle Unit 2 Steam Generator Snubber Reduction (TAC 65082)

By letters dated July 1, and August 6, 1987, Georgia Power Company (GPC) i proposed a redesign of the steam generator upper support of the reactor coolant loop system for Vogtle Unit 2 by submitting a technical evaluation i and the proposed revised FSAR pages. The revised steam generator upper support design would reduce the number of snubbers per steam generator from five to two.

The staff has reviewed GPC's submittals and concludes that the proposed  !

steam generator redesign is acceptable. The staff's evaluation is enclosed. i l
