SUBJECT: SHUTDOWN CONDENSER SAMPLE LINE (TAC 56955)
Re: La Crosse Roiling Water Reactor (LACBWR)
During the review of containment isolation provisions at LACRWR, a concern
was identified regarding the shutdown condenser sample line. This issue is
described in Inspection Report 84-09, dated October 5, 1984 (item 409/84-09-17).
By letter dated February 8,1985, you proposed to install two checn valves in
series in this line to improve the capability to isolate the containment atmosphere
from the environment. As discussed in the enciesed safety evaluation, the
staff concludes that the planned modification will provide acceptable
isolation capability for the shutdown condenser sample line.
