SUBJECT:
ROUTINE SECURITY INSPECTION AT THE LACROSSE BOILING WATER
REACTOR (INSPECTION REPORT 50-409/98003(DNMS))
Dear Mr. Berg:
This letter refers to the inspection conducted on August 11-12,1998, at your permanently
shutdown Lacrosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR). The inspection included a review of -
the Physical Security Plan for LACBWR. At the conclusion of this inspection, the findings were
discussed with members of your staff during an exit meeting on August 12,1998. The enclosed
report presents the results of this inspection.
- Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of interviews with personnel, observations of activities in progress, walk-
throughs with your staff, and a selected examination of procedures and associated records.
Overall performance of the security organization was excellent.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of the inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the
- enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
