SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-409/99001(DNMS)
Dear Mr. Berg:
On April 14-16,1999, the NRC conducted an inspection at your permanently shut down
La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor nuclear plant which examined decommissioning safe storage
activities. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During this inspection, activities in the areas of facility management and control, spent fuel l
safety, and radiological safety were examined.
Obrall performance during decommissioning / safe storage activities wcs good. All activities
inspected were conducted in compliance with the Decommissioning Plan, the Quality
Assurance Program and the Technical Specifications. ,
in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the l

enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
