On behalf of the staff of the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, I would like to express our appreciation for the support you provided for the recent public meeting we held at the Viroqua High School-. Middle School Complex on the decommissioning of the Lacrosse.

Having an open, constructive dialog with the public in the vicinity of the nuclear power plant is an important step in achieving our goal of providing appropriate opportunities for public participation in our regulatory programs. We appreciate your willingness to perform
' that important function and I have received several comments on how your professionalism and conduct contributed to the success of the meeting.
As noted during the meeting,' I am the NRC staff principal point of contact for issues

related to the decommissioning of LACBWR. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, either as an interested member of the public or in your capacity as a local government official on our regulatory programs or how they will be applied to
. LACBWR decommissioning activities.
