Changes to Emergency Plan (EP) and Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures (EPIP) for the University of Virginia Reactor Facility, Docket Nos. 50-62 and 50-396

Dear Mr. Thomas:

Enclosed please find, as a result of our first EP and EPIP review, Amendment 1 to our Emergency Plan and Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures. These changes have been made based on the results of an NRC review of our emergency preparedness program at our facility during the week of August 19, 1985. They serve to clarify certain ambiguous areas and to make our procedures more compatible with our Emergency Plan.

These modifications have been reviewed and approved by our Reactor Safety Committee and as allowed under 10 CFR, part 50.54Q it has been determined that they do not decrease the overall effectiveness of our emergency preparedness program.

Please acknowledge receipt by mailing the attached forms to the U.Va. Reactor Facility.
