Dear Gentlemen:

Please consider this as the advance notification required by 10CFR73 of our upcoming final spent nuclear research reactor fuel shipment "R66-99-2" from the U.Va. Nuclear Reactor Facility to Savannah River, S.C.. Details concerning this shipment are in attachment. We hereby confirm that a med escorts are being arranged for the Salem /Roanoke VA, Charlotte NC and Columbia

SC portions of the travel route, as required. Also, the appropriate governors or designees of the 4 states through which the shipment is to be made are being notified.

Please be reminded that Federal Regulations require all shipment schedule infonnation to be kept confidential until at least 10 days following the completion of the shipment. Once this cover letter is detached from the enclosures, it no longer is considered safeguards information.
