UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA REACTOR FACILITY OPERATION REOUALIFICATION PROGRAM; " CAVALIER" AND UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA REACTOR "UVAR" (TAC NOS. MA3289 AND MA3290)
Dear Dr. Mulder:
The staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has completed its review and evaluation of the University of Virginia's Cavalier and UVAR research reactor Operator Requalification Program that was submitted by letters dated August 3,1998, as supplemented on October 7,1998. The program was reviewed against the criteria in 10 CFR Part 55.
Based on its review, the staff concludes that the University of Virginia's Cavalier and UVAR Reactor Operator Requalification Program meets the requirements of the regulations and is, therefore, acceptable. We request that you begin to implement your approved program immediately.
