Dear Mr. Adams:

1 We have nearly completed our response to the NRC's Request for Additional Information, which was dated November 23,1998. However, given that the holiday season is upon us, it will be impossible for the Reactor Safety Committee to meet, review and approve the numerous revisions made to previously proposed UVAR TS amendments by the current 30-day response deadline.

For this reason, we request a thirty day tirne extension (until January 23,1999).
