SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT N0. 50 62/97 01
Dear Dr. Mulder:
This refers to the inspection conducted by C. Bassett of this office and
M. Mendonca from Headquarters on April 14 17, 1997. The inspection was also
observed by Russian regulatory personnel from Gosatomnadzor, Messrs. Adolf
Safronov and Valeri Krokhine. The inspection included a review of activities
authorized for your research reactor facility. At the conclusion of the
inspection, the findings were discussed with those members of your staff '
identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within
these areas, the aspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice." a copy of
this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
