102 NUCLEAR REACTOR BUILDING ENGINEERING GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA 32611 AREA CODE 904 PHONE 392-1429 November 22, 1983 Fuel Facility Safeguards Licensing Branch U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Attention: Mr. Robert L. Tedesco Assistant Director for Licensing Re: University of Florida Training Reactor Physical Security Plan License No: R-56, Docket No. 50-83

Dear Sir:

The enclosed package contains Revision 7 (pages 3-1 and 3-2) for the Phy-sical Security Plan for the University of Florida Training Reactor. In review-ing the R-56 fuel inventory and comparing it with the quoted fuel inventory on Pages 3-1 and 3-2 of the UFTR Physical Security Plan (PSP) on November 17, 1983, it was discovered that the PSP Section 3, " Identification of Special Nu-clear Material on Site" had not been updated to fuel received from UCLA in August, 1982. This has been properly inventoried, recorded and reported cther-wise in the applicable Material Status Reports. In addition, several typo-graphical errors were noted on Page 3-2.

As a result of this review, a change is made to the Physical Security Plan pursuant to 10CFR50.54(p); six copies of the changes (Revision 7 dated December 1, 1983) are enclosed for your information and review. As a result of these changes, the PSP identification of SNM on site for the UFTR R-56 license is correct and within the Technical Specification requirements on contained U-235.

These changes do not reduce the security level represented in the current UFTR Physical Plan.

Sincerely, of William G. Vernetson
