Document Control Desk Significant Change in U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Facility Administration Washington, DC 20555 Re: Facility License R-56, Docket Number 50-83 As required by our Technical Specifications, Section 6.6.3, Paragraph (1), we are reporting a significant change in our facility organization at Level 3 which is the level responsible for the day-to-day operation of the University of Florida Training Reactor (UFTR).
Mr. Douglas Simpkins, who was the Reactor Manager resigned his position effective on August 9,1996. Effective August 9,1996, Mr. Daniel Cronin, who has been employed more than l five years and who has been licensed as a Senior Reactor Operator for nearly five years at our facility, has been appointed to replace Mr. Simpkins as the Acting Reactor Manager. Mr. Cronin also has six years of Nuclear Navy experience and has senior status working toward a degree in nuclear engineering at the University of Florida. Mr. Cronin has previous experience acting as UFTR reactor manager as well during periods when Mr. Simpkins was absent. Since Mr. Cronin l is a part-time employee, this appointment is considered temporary as efforts are under way to obtain a full-time replacement for the Reactor Manager position.
