Dear Sir / Madam:

Re: University of Florida Training Reactor Facility License R-56, Docket No. 50-83 As required by our Technical Specifications, Section 6.6.3, Paragraph (1), we are reporting a significant change in our facility organization at Level 3 which is the level responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University of Florida Training Reactor (UFTR).

Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) James W. Wolf has been appointed the Acting Reactor Manager for the UFTR to replace SRO John W. Powers effective May 13,1999. Mr. Powers was not able to devote the necessary time required for this position while Mr. Wolf, at least in the near term, will be able to do so. Mr. Powers will continue as a part-time SRO as he continues to pursue his bachelor's degree at the University of Florida.

Sincerely, William G. Vernetson
