As committed in our April 23 responso to the subject Notice of Violation, a fully reviewed and approved copy of a new pro- l cedure developed to assure that violatiens related to reactor waste shipments do not recur. The attsc: hod Standard operating Procedure designated UFTR SOP-D.5 (UFTR Reactor Waste Shipments: l Preparations and Transfer) received final review and approval by the Reactor Safety Review Subcommittee (RSRS) on May 21, 1987 as denoted by the signed coversheet.
As committed in our April 23, 1987 response, no radioactive , l reactor waste shipments will be made from the UFTR R-56 license li j until this procedure is fully reviewed and approved by the RSRS C- i and by NRC Region II. Therefore, the procedure is supplied for your review. If there are questions concerning the procedure, please advise.
