At 0800 on 8/14/79, the CO 2 fire protection system for the diesel generator building was declared inoperable due to the malfunction of the CO 2 timers associated with diesel generator building rooms 1-2A and 2B.
A fire watch patrol with backup fire suppression equipment was established and the area was inspected at least once per hour as required by Tech. Spec. action statement 3.7.11.2.b.
The system was declared operable at 1300 on Of12/79, following timer replacement and the satisfactory performance of surveillance test FNP-1-STP-129 (Low Pressure CO 2 System).
