NPDES Permit No. AL0024019 -

In accordance with Part II.A.2 of the referenced permit, we are submitting a noncompliance report for a violation which occurred at the referenced plant. Analysis performed on December 11, 1981 indicated a Fecal Coliform value of too numerous to count (TNTC) for the Sewage Treatment Plant 2A (Discharge Point 011) .

The chlorination system of the sewage facility malfunctioned, causing the chlorine residual to decrease below normal operating levels.

As a result, the fecal coliform count increased and exceeded the allowable limit.

The noncompliance was detected on the sample date, December 10, 1981. The chlorination system was repaired on December 15, 1981. Future operation will include testing the chlorine residual to ensure proper functioning of the chlorination system.

If you need additional information, please contact me.

Very truly yours, ff Q JA-- = > .
