Summary of Operating Experience September- 1979

~

Indian Point Unit 3 was synchronized to the bus for a total of 259 hours0.003 days
0.0719 hours
4.282407e-4 weeks
9.85495e-5 months
producing a gross generation of 159,500 mwh for this reporting period. During this period, the unit experienced a trip and two shutdowns.

On September 1st at 12:20, the unit was manually removed from service due to a high amount of chlorides in the Steam Generators caused by Condenser Tube Leaks. Repairs were effected and the unit returned to service on September 4th at 0406.

'

A low Steam Generator level trip occurred on September 6th at 0324 due to the loss of #32 Main Boiler Feed Pump Control. Upon correction of the problem, the unit was synchronized to the bus at 1449 on the same day.

The unit operated satisfactorily until it was removed for the Cycle Two Refueling Outage on September 14th at 2235.
