Licensee Event Report No. 82-127 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2 Pursuant to Appendix A Technical Specification 6.9.1.12b to Operating License NPF-10 for San Onofre Unit 2, this submittal provides the t                  written confirmation of our prompt notification to the NRC on November 3,1982 of a reportable occurrence involving the Iodine Removal System (IRS).
!                  On November 3,1982, an error we.s discovered in a temporary modification on low level cut-off controls made to the Spray Chemical Tank (T-105) on October 19, 1982.~ This error would have prevented the system from delivering the full required amount of NaOH solution into the Containment l                  Spray System (CSS). The public health and safety was not affected by this occurrence since the CSS was operable at all times and the IRS was i                  operable at a reduced efficiency, assuming a design basis event.
A 14-day follow up report and copy of Licensee Event Report (LER) 82-127 will be submitted by November 17, 1982.
