Docket No. 50-206 Special Report San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1 Pursuant to-Section 3.14.B.2.b of Appendix A, Technical Specifications (TS) to Provisional Operating License'DPR-13 for San Onofre Unit 1, this submittal provides the required Special Report for inoperable Fire Spray / Sprinkler Systems for greater than 14 days.
On May 21, 1989, the North Turbine Building Chemical Treatment Area Fire
~ Spray / Sprinkler System was removed from service to perform the 18-month functional' testing in accordance with the surveillance requirements of TS 4.15.B.
Additionally, on May 28,1989, the Containment Fire Spray System was removed.from serviceasreguiredbyprocedureforthecurrentMode5outagetorepairReactor Coolant Pump B" seal and Steam Generator level-wide range indication. The requisite fire watches and backup fire sup)ression equipment, pursuant to TS Section 3.14.B.2.a, were established for tie affected areas.
Following satisfactory completion of the 18-month surveillance testing, the North Turbine Building Chemical Area Fire Spray / Sprinkler System was returned to service on June 5, 1989.- Prior to Mode 4 entry from the current outage, the Containment Spray System will be returned to service.
