Docket No. 50-206 Special Report San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1 Pursuant to Section 3.14.B.1.a of Appendix A, Technical Specifications to Provisional Operating License DPR-13 for San Onofre Unit 1, this subraittal provides the required Special Report for inoperable fire suppression equipment.
-On March-21, 1986, with Unit 1 in a refueling outage, a portion of the Unit 1 fire main was removed from service for modification of the Fire Water System to include installation of a fire suppression system in the charging pump room to meet 10 CFR 50.48, Appendix R requirements. This work required Post Indicating Valves D and N be closed, which isole.ted the water supply to Fire Hose Stations 18, 19, 20, and 21.
In accordance with Technical Specification 3.14, the requitad compensatory hoses and firewatches were established in all affected areas and will be maintained until the planned work is completed and the Fire Water System returned to service. This portion of the fire main is expected to be returned to service by May, 1986.
