Docket Hos. 50-361 and 50-362 Follow-up Report, Inoperable Fire Doors -- July 1989 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 & 3 The purpose of this letter is to provide a follow-up report for Technical Specification fire-rated assemblies (specifically fire doors) found inoperable during routine surveillance in July 1989. This monthly report and previous monthly reports provide updated information associated with the initial 1983 report.

The attachment to this letter identife.s fire doors found inoperable during the July reutine surveillance ar.d consists of: 9 1atching mechanism failures and

? closare mechanism failures. As each of these deficiencies was identified, compensatory fire watches were established pursuant to Technical Specification 3.7.9, Action Statement "a". No doors were found to be blocked open in July.
