Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Follow-up Report, Inoperable Fire Doors - March 1986 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Statioi, Units 2 and 3
Reference:

dated March 14, 1986.
In accordance with our referenced letter, this submittal provides the follow-up report of fire-rated assemblies (specifically fire doors) found inoperable during routine surveillances in March 1986.
Fire doors found inoperable during the March routine surveillances are identified in the Attachment and include:
7 latching mechanism failures; 12 closure mechanism failures; and-1 door blocked open for maintenance activities. As each of these deficiencies was identified, compensatory fire watches, pursuant to Technical Specification 3.7.9, Action Statement
'a', were established. Door mechanism failures are being corrected on an "as found" basis.

Mr. J. B. Martin This monthly follow-up report and those sent previously provide updated information associated with an ongoing condition initially reported in 1983.
The follow-up report covering inoperable fire doors identified in April 1986 will be submitted by May 15, 1986.
