Specification (TS) 3.3.3.4, Action a, of f v.ility Operating Licenses NPF-10 and
.NPF-15 for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 involving the Meteorological Monitoring Instrumentation channels being out of service for greater than 7 days.
On 07/07/89, with Unit 2 at 100% power and Unit 3 in Mode 4, the 40-meter meteorological tower was removed from service to perform the semiannual monitoring instrumentation channel. calibration surveillance pursuant to TS Table 4.3-5 and to implement a design change that results in replacing the meteorological tower.
The backup 10-meter meteorological tower, which remains in service, and a temporary weather station will provide the alternate means of monitoring the required parameters.
It is anticipated the 40-meter meteorological tower will be returned to service by July 21, 1989.
