LP&L Letter W3P89-0028, dated February 21, 1989, R.F. Burski to the NRC, Response to Generic Letter 88-14 Gentlemen:

As stated in the response to Generic Letter 88-14 (see reference), the analysis of Waterford 3's instrument air sample was not complete at the time the response was submitted. Subsequently, LP&L committed to provide a statement of Waterford 3 instrument air quality within thirty days of receipt of the results.

LP&L drew an instrument air sample which was sent to an outside laboratory for analysis. The sample was analyzed for moisture, particulate and hydrocarbons. The acceptance criteria for each is as follows:

Particulate 5 10 microns Dewpoint 5 -10'F Hydrocarbons 5 3 PPM LP&L received the results of the analysis April 13, 1989. The instrument air sample met the above acceptance criteria.
