Waterford 3 SES Docket No. 50-382 License No. NPF-38 Implementation Date For Technical Specification Change Request NPF-38-211 Broad Range Gas Detection System Gentlemen:
In letter W3F1-98-0167 on October 1,1998, Entergy submitted Technical Specification Change Request (TSCR) NPF-38-211. The proposed change modifies TS 3.3.3.7.3 and Surveillance Requirement 4.3.3.7.3 for the broad range gas detection system. A change to the Technical Specification Basis 3/4.3.3.7.3 was included to support this change. This change to the Technical Specifications is necessary for the installation of a new, more reliable broad range gas detection system. Additional information was provided to the NRC Staff by Letter W3F1 0051, dated March 25,1999, concerning the analysis performed to support the TSCR. The NRC Staff has requested an implementation date for the TSCR. Entergy Operations requests the implementation date for this change be within 90 days of approval to allow for installation of the new monitoring system.
