M S N N E S OTA 5 5 40 0 December 31, 1979 Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 PONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Upgraded Emergency Plan As requested in Mr Eisenhut's October 10, 1979 letter, we are furnishing for your review 10 copies of the Monticello Emergency Plan Draf t Proposal (12/31/79) to meet the upgrading guidance outlined in that letter.
Appropriately upgraded implementing procedures are being drafted and we understand this process will be assessed by the NRC Review Team when it visits the site.
We are unable to submit the State and local plans, at this time, as these plans are now under revision in response to guidance provided at an early November Workshop conducted by the Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) under an ongoing concurrence process. It is expected that this revision process will be completed early in January and copies of Minnesota's Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Plan (which includes appropriate county and local plans) then can be submitted to you.
This will ensure that your Review Team and the RAC will be reviewing identical versions of the plan.
