In a letter dated July 2,1999, from Carl F. Lyon of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Staff to Roger O. Anderson of Northern States Power (NSP) Compay, NSP was requested to review data for the Monticello reactor pressure vessel that was entered in the NRC Reactor Vessel Integrity Database. This letter responds to that request.

The Reactor Vessel Intemals Data Base has been thoroughly reviewed for the Monticello specific data input to the data base. The following corrections ace recommended:

Title of display: Plate Detail Identification of data set: PlateID 234 Data entries in question: USE @ EOL (1/4T): 47.8

% Drop @ EOL (1/4T): 32.7 Recommended values: USE @ EOL (1/4T): 56.2 [

% Drop @ EOL (1/4T): 20.9 M Discussion: The % Drop @ EOL (1/4T) of 32.7 and the USE @ EOL (1/4T) of 47.8 appear to g be incorrect. We believe that the conect value for % Drop @ EOL (1/4T) should be 20.9 and 0 the correct value for USE @ EOL (1/4T) should be 56.2 ft-lbs. These are the values identified in our letter from William J. Hill to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated September 5,1997, " Response to Request for Additional Information (RAI) on Monticello Power Rcrate Program (TAC No. M96238)" which reflect currently accepted vessel material perfonnance criteria.
