Item II.B.4, Training for Mitigating Core Damage; implementation of which calls for each licensee to complete the initial program by October 1, 1981.
This letter is to inform you that for the reasons stated below, we will be unable to meet the requirement of completing the initial program by October 1, 1981.
Implementation of the program has begun and utilizes the special training course developed by Westinghouse.
An extremely heavy workload associated with the extended outage for steam generator repairs and extensive TMI backfit modifications, which was only recently completed, coupled with other NRC mandated training requirements and overtime restric tions have precluded the availability of personnel with sufficient time to complete the training. The initial program will be complete by December 1, 1981.
