Inspection No. 50-354/89-14 This letter transmits the findings of the routine, resident safety ins'pection conducted by Mr. G. Meyer and Mr. D. Allsopp from June 20, 1989 to August 14, 1989, at the Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station. The findings were discussed with Mr. J. Hagan of your staff.

The inspectors noted additional attention to detail errors by Hope Creek personnel similar to those described in the most recent SALP report 50-354/88-99.

The inspectors observed worthwhile training efforts for this problem, but the effectiveness of this training and other efforts in this area will be judged based on the reduction of attention to detail errors. We encourage you to continue to pursue such a reduction.

Within the scope of this inspection, the inspectors did not find any violations.
