The following item represents the commitment that PSE&G is making to the NRC relative to LER 354/99-007-00:

1. The battery charging procedure will be revised to clarify the steps concerning the use of fuse protection while charging operable, Class-1E batteries. Training on the revised procedure will be provided to appropriate Maintenance Department personnel by August 31,1999.
2. Personnel involved in this event will be held accountable for inappropriate actions in accordance with PSE&G procedures and policies by July 31,1999.
3. The details of this event, including lessons learned, will be rolled out to appropriate Maintenance Department personnel by August 31,1999.
