NRC REGION I - UTILITY SYMPOSIUM / WORKSHOP ON ENGINEERING'S ROLE IN PLANT SUPPORT This is an invitation to you and other members of your staff .to- attend-and participate in a Region I symposiun/ workshop to be. held at the Sheraton Valley 1 Forge Hotel in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania on February 20, 1991 from noon to-5:00 p.m. and February 21, 1991 from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. _The objective of. '

the symposium is to promote a dialog and better understanding between licensee's-engineering managers and NRC regarding engineering's role in support.of all plant activities. We recommend- that participation include- senior. nuclear executives and engineering managers of both corporate and ..te~ organizations. 1 The symposium is in the_ planning stage and' preliminary topics for discussion'-

have been selected: elements of a good engineering organization, licensees' actions vith degraded conditions' including operability /reportability determina-tions, and the modification process including.10CFR 50.59 re'iews.v 1

As the plans for the symposium are further finalized, interested individuals .
