This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. L. J. Hueter of this

office on August 22-25 and August 29 - September 1, 1978, of activi-

ties at Quad-Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, authorized ,

by NRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-29 and No. DPR-30 and to the dis-

cussion of our findings with Mr. Gudac and other members of , our

staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

,

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas

examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of a selective examination of_ procedures

and representative records, observations, and interviews with

personnel.

The inspector also examined actions you have taken with respect to

the matters identified in your' letters dated October 19, 1977 and

April 24, 1978 and for item A in your letter dated March 24, 1977.

We have no further questions regarding these matters.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified

i during the course of this inspection.

Based on diset;ssions with your representatives at the site, we

understand that the improved calibration of the chimney monitor

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of
