WITHDRAWAL OF AMENDMENT REQUEST FOR QUAD CITIES STATION (TAC N05. 68293 AND 68294) -

By letter dated May 17, 1988, Commonwealth Edison Company (CECO) submitted . -

a Technical Specifications (TS) amendraent request to revise requirements I associated with the Rod Block Monitor. However, CECO staff subsequently decided this amendment would be superseded by other amendrnent requests being generated as part of an internal Ceco TS improvement program. Ceco agreed with NRC staff during a recent rneeting that the amendntnt is no longer necessary.

Consequently, based on our understanding of your intentions, we are considering CECO's amendment request of M6y 17, 1988 to be withdrawn. If this information #

is not correct, please notify the NRC of your intended actions within 10 days of receipt of this letter.
