           Gentlemen:
           This transmits the June 30, 1988 to July 31, 1988, routine inspection findings
           of Mr. C. Holden an1 Mr. R. Freudenberger at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power
           Plant, Wiscasset, Maine. Those findings were based on observations of activ-
           ities,    interviews,    and document    reviews,    and have been discussed with
         ,
           Dr. Boulette of your staff.
           Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
           A review was performed of the Operations Department Casualty Drills. These
           drills, an Operations Department initiative, are considered a valuable method
           for reinforcing systems training, diagnosing equipment malfunctions and
           reiterating the importance of good work practices.
           No reply to this letter is required.          Your continued cooperation with us in
           this matter is appreciated.
