Fire Protection Training Program (PMD-TR-001)

Dear Mr. Novak:

We are officially transmitting to you the subject programs, which have been informally transmitted to your Mr. Kubeckie of the Chemical Engineering Branch several months ago, for your review and comment.

The purposes of these programs are:

1) Minimize the probability of occurrence of fire, to ensure rapid detecting and extinguishing of fires that do occur, and to maintain the capability of hot shutdown for the worst case fire and
2) To provide appropriate training for persons assigned fire protection responsibilities in accordance with governing procedures.

If you have any comments or questions concerning these programs, please notify me or Mr. Mark Williams of our NPSG Licensing Subgroup.

Yours very truly,

/
