Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

On January 13, 1983, Mr. A. Hardin of the NRC was notified of a potentially reportable item per the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) and 10CFR, Part 21. The boric acid transfer pumps from the vendor (Crane Company) contained weld deficiencies and unidentified bolting material. At the present time, Westing-house is still evaluating these discrepancies and do not expect to be complete until April 30, 1983. For this reason, we would request an extension until May 16, 1983 for submitting a report on the reportability of this item.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
