Code of Federal Regulations, Part 21, IMO Delaval Inc.

(

hereby notifies the Commission of a potential defect in a

. component of a DSR and DSRV Standby Diesel Generator.

There exists a potential problem with the air pressure regulator that supplies control air to the engine control panel.

IMO Delaval has supplied DSR and DSRV engines with this potential defect to the following sites:

The. regulator is located in the supply line from the starting air receiver tanks to the engine control panel.

There exists a potential problem that the dripwell gasket may fail, due to mismachining of the gasket seating surface, causing a loss of control air which in turn could cause a loss of starting air pressure.

The defective f '.

regulators may be identified by the date of manufacture which is stamped on the bottom of the regulator.

The date of manufacture is identified by a letter followed by a and,/4' l number.

The 1e.tter indicates the month of manufacture, the number indicates the year (i.e.

"O6" is March 1986).
