This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Messrs. F. Maura and
E. Tomlinson of this office from November 19, 1985 to June 5, 1986, of activities

at Fermi Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 2 authorized by NRC License No. 43 and to the
i discussion of preliminary findings at meetings with you and members of your staff
held at the Fermi 2 site on January 24, 1986 and at the Region III office on
February 14, 1986, and with Mr. R. Lenart and others of your staff at the
conclusion of our inspection on June 5, 1986.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations,'and
interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Comission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
