Dear Mr. Parise:

On January 12, 1983, outfall 001, monitoring point 101 experienced a total residuni c.hlorine of about- 3.0 ppm which is greater than the specification of 0.5 ppm. This condition existed for about 4 hours4.62963e-5 days <br />0.00111 hours <br />6.613757e-6 weeks <br />1.522e-6 months <br /> due to failure of a pump used to add the dechlorinating agent. Spare pumps are kept on site and allowed rapid corrective action once the problem-was identified.

This matter had been communicated to you by telephone on January 13, 1983.
